this week ken and i had an impromtu date night. we had sushi and watched dr. strangelove. that's one of his favorite movies; i'd never seen it. i thought it was a really good movie.
it reminded me of the times i was SO INTO watching old movies on amc. my mom got me a bit addicted. i love black and white movies with good acting. and i love old tv shows.
like my mom, i love alfred hitchcock, i love lucy, guess who's coming to dinner. the typical ones.
mom and i loved watching the wizard of oz (which i'm watching now) and the parent trap.
i love the nostalgia that this movie brings me. the excitement i got of participating in something my mom loved watching as a child...and then sharing that experience together.

agreed. i used to watch them with my grandma, who literally taped thousands of hours of old movies on amc.
...you left out charlie and the chocolate factory. i know that's not really in the same category, but it gives me that same feeling.
