rudy huxtable

well what had happened was that when i was a little girl i thought i was famous. i mean seriously famous. when my family would go on vacations i would make it a point to act famous when we arrived at a reststop. i was certain that the paparazzi would find me at any point.

why do you ask? well because i did look a lot like rudy huxtable.

see the similarity?

when i was in high school i showed my brother and mom one of my 'senior photos.' it was actually a photo of keisha knight pulliam.

i'm hilarious aren't i?

i know. i know. it's time for bed.

funny admissions

during a conversation with a coworker i admitted to some behavior i considered non-wmf.

- i like to do the following -

- watch tv, a little too much
- shop, a little too much
- watch sex and the city, a lot
- and take way too many self portraits (there are HUNDREDS on my photobooth)

crazy arms

so. what are some of my favorite arm exercises.

well first, let me clarify, these aren't my FAVORITE exercises...but these are the exercises that seem to always work.

what you may need: a wall, a chair or low table

-pushups. i've learned that when you do modified pushups (pushups on your knees) you actually want to keep your feet on the ground. a lot of times we will let our feet cross behind us as we do push ups. that puts a lot of pressure on your back apparently. so. feet down. and make sure your arms are wide!

- tricep dips. i think the lower the chair or wall is to the ground it's harder and more awkward. well actually i hate tricep dips. but, they're easy to figure out. sit in a chair....and push your body away from the chair....'n' dip! you want to make sure that your elbows are close to your body so you're actually working your triceps.

- another pushup...use that same table or chair and do your pushups that way...the incline messes with you....and while you're at it, flip around, put your feet on the chair and then do pushups. woot woot.

- ooo and another pushup exercise! you can actually do pushups against the wall while standing up. it's a nice break.

i think these are fun exercises. what i've done while traveling...i've set up a little space to do these exercises, bring a towel and some water. then...i do what something that people may refer to as supersets. i go through each exercise back to back - doing 10-12 reps....and before starting over, i would do a hover or something similar to that...then i'd go at it again either one or two more times.

:)

that's it.
i do hate pushups though.
alot.

what had happened was

i was enjoying a lovely night of sleep and was all of a sudden awake....but why.

tornado sirens. if you know me, you know i love and respect the weather.

so. because it's warm in my apartment and i don't want to turn the a/c on, i sleep with very little on. but when the sirens go...i go. i grab my robe to cover my crazy outfit with and i walk down to the basement.

1. i thought i'd run into all my neighbors. i actually only met there - one of which was a couple i've always wanted to know!

2. if you know me, i'll tell you more about what i was wearing

3. i i just heard a meteorologist say gustnado.

4. i only text message two people - brent and krystal. why them? i'm not sure. why not you? who knows.

5. i talked about the things i wish i would've already bought - those stupid weather radios they talk about and a flashlight (will be purchased soon)

6. there were other people in the basement but i don't know who it was

7. sometimes when i fall asleep i think of escape routes and then what i would grab in case of an emergency. i grabbed my keys and cellphone. i guess i would've been a sight with my laptop, camera and firesafety box and journals.

8. i am much funnier when i'm crazy haired, sans makeup and 'just been sleeping and woke up in a startle' state.

good night or good morning.

buying friendships

for some reason as a child i felt the need to prove to other kids that they should be my friends. i would try and convince them through some type of payment - maybe money or maybe trading something...i'm not really sure but something weird has stuck with me since then.

even as a 27 year old i'm super insecure in friendships. if you know me, you probably were pursued by me at some point. some people call that being a good friend, i think it's more of insecurity.

if you know anything about the enneagram, you know about the #6...which is me, the loyalist. here's a little summary.

The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.

Key Motivations: Want to have security, to feel supported by others, to have certitude and reassurance, to test the attitudes of others toward them, to fight against anxiety and insecurity.
The Meaning of the Arrows (in brief)

When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), dutiful Sixes suddenly become competitive and arrogant at Three. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), fearful, pessimistic Sixes become more relaxed and optimistic, like healthy Nine.

so today. i feel like a six. i get in these moods when i feel like i have to assess the waters of friendships. there are a couple of people who have been put through this...and they've been gracious to me as i've stumbled through our friendship.

even as a kid i would do this...i would purposely not pursue a friendship to see if i was holding it up or if it was mutual. i guess i'm in a season of testing the waters. we'll see what happens. maybe i'm just being a six.

inspiration, weather fanatic

okay. so i've had this bright idea to post some of my favorite workouts that i like to do while i'm away from the Y. when i was in SL i made a point to do some calisthenics almost every other day...i mixed it up with push ups, sit us, planks, lunges...and glistening, sweaty arms! i loved it. be on the lookout.

SO. i just had to write this story. last night i was watching so you think you can dance, yes, i know, it wasn't on last night...i'lll get to the point.

so. i'm watching it. and watching it and there's a weather alert going on at the bottom. since i am a weather freak i pay attention to the weather on the bottom. i got on the borrowed internet and looked at weather.com. weather.com seemed much calmer than fox.

then i realized i was watching a tape.
